Bali: experiences, food & travel notes

Combine Sanur’s coast with the Ubud area’s cultural landscape. One hotel base keeps a short stay practical and avoids nightly packing.

What to do · Two moods, one base

Use Sanur for an unhurried seaside walk, then dedicate another day to Tegallalang and Tirta Empul in the Gianyar area. This combines coast and culture without turning every stop into a rushed photo break.

Food · Sate lilit and Balinese flavours

Try sate lilit at a Sanur or Ubud meal stop. Recipes differ between vendors, so ask about the meat, spice level and ingredients relevant to your diet. Food purchases are separate from the base plan.

Area tip · Leave room between regions

Traffic calls for buffers between visits. Treat Uluwatu, northern Bali and Nusa Penida as separate extension days rather than quick additions to Sanur–Ubud. Temple visits follow local access rules.
